MATERIALS

We have always chosen not to extrude directly

the material to be thermoformed, turning for the purchase

from the most reliable manufacturers on the market.

This gives us a high degree of flexibility in being able to

access to multiple possibilities of choice both in terms

of material and the performance offered.

 

PET (terephthalate polyethylene))

Thermoplastic resin suitable for food contact, belonging to the
polyester’s family, is obtained from the processing of oil, natural gas
or vegetable raw materials. Available in the BIO PET variant
(partially deriving from renewable sources).

As main material in the production of thermoformed food items, it
can be used:

– PET as it is;
– Coupled to PE (on some thicknesses considered as mono
material);
– Additive (mono material considered);

– Coupled with EVOH / PET (considered mono material);
– coextruded with EVOH / PE. The latter is largely used in MAP
packaging (Modified Athmosphere Packaging) for cold cuts.

 

PET

We have 8 different types of PET in orde to meet the different
needs of our customers; we thermoform coils with a minimum
thickness of 140 mm up to 1500mm, creating from clear or blue
scale, neutral or colored, semi-transparent or opaque PET
products. With regard o the recycled % of, we propose:

– Virgin PET;
– PET with variable recycled %;
– 100% recycled PET, both clear and blue

We also have metallized PETs protected with lacquer or with PET
layers.

PS (polystyrene)

Petroleum obtained polymer.

Depending on the application sector, we use the material most
suited to specific needs (e.g. certification for contact with food) and the aesthetic characteristics required, proposing, in the
transparent/colored variants:

– virgin PS
– 50% recycled PS;
– 100% recycled PS

We thermoform PS in a ranging thickness from 0.15cm to 2cm.

PS can be coupled to other materials, such as PE (LD / HD), finding a wide range of use in the construction of glass handling trays.

PETG – PET G/A/G

used to satisfy the requirements for secondary packaging in sectors with special needs, among others the medical one.

The thermoformed items made with this material meet the following characteristics:

– peelable and salable with Tyvek (medical paper);
– suitable for both hermetic closure and at the same time
facilitated opening;
– suitable for the gas sterilization process.

 

FLOCK

material used for the cosmetics, perfumery and luxury sectors,
consisting of a polystyrene or PET base to which fibers are glued
and which give the characteristic velvet effect; we obtain materials with different characteristics, that depending on the type of fiber used:

– 18C Flocked: in cotton fiber;
– UNIVEL rayon / viscose flocked: biodegradable fiber obtained
from cellulose;
– nylon Flocked: synthetic fiber obtained from the by-products of
petroleum processing treatment. High anti-touch
characteristics;
– NIVIS: a mix of viscose and nylon;

It is possible to work the flock by embossing (an operation in which the material is pressed under a cylinder roller engraved with the chosen weft, which impresses the design on the material by heat and pressure). Texil is the most commonly used embossing and it provides a fabric effect.

SEA FLOCK: FLOCK PET

Flocked made with 100% recycled PET. Innovative and
environmentally friendly product, which provides the use of recycled
plastic for consumption only for the base and the staple.

Available thicknesses: from 0,20mm to 1,200mm; colors on
customer request and possible Texil finish

The sea flock also has the plus of being potentially recyclable.

 

PVC (Polyvinyl chloride)

Vinyl chloride polymer.

Possibility of supplying medical grade PVC, for UV rays sterilization
or ethylene peroxide vapors subjected products.

The sealability characteristics make it particularly suitable for the
blister packaging use.

 

PP (polypropylene)

material used to produce thermoformed products intended for
contact with food irradiated by radiation because it does not heat up directly, does not deform and does not release substances to the food. Indicated for both microwave and freezing use.

 

PLA (polylactate)

It is a polymer produced from renewable resources such as corn
starch, sugar cane bagasse and other products with a high starch
content.

It also exists in a barrier version (obtained with the addition of
GOH). It is both compostable and biodegradable.
